What is the advantage of Crystal Potpourri over botanical potpourris made of dried flowers, bark, and pinecones?

When botanical potpourris lose their scent, there is no practical way to replenish and renew their fragance. In addition, botanical potpourris will dry and deteriorate over time and literally crumble into dust. As a result, those who have allergies and are sensitive to dust or plant allergens are often unable to use botanical potpourris.

In contrast, Crystal Potpourri can be refreshed with essential oils over and over as the scent fades, providing long-lasting fragrance in your home. As the potpourri is made of natural crystals, there is no dust and no concern that plant allergens will cause distress.

What are these crystals made of?

Crystal Potpourri is made of natural sea salt harvested from the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Brazil. It contains no additives or conditioners.

What kind of container can I use?

Crystal Potpourri crystals work well in any non-reactive container. Because of the beautiful colors, we especially recommend glass dishes, bowls, hurricane glasses, urns, vases, jars. You probably already have many attractive glass dishes that can be matched with Crystal Potpourri. While these crystals will not hurt most surfaces on casual contact, the crystals should not have long-term contact with clothing, most plastics, and many metals.

Fleeting contact is unlikely to harm these materials. If there is any contact, then brushing these surfaces or wiping them with a damp cloth will generally be sufficient to ensure these natural salts do not mar any surfaces.

How long does the color last?

These crystals are color fast under normal use. Do not attempt to wash the crystals with water.

How long does the fragrance last?

Under normal conditions, the fragrance will last approximately a month at its original strength. Keep in mind that the fragrance works as it does because it becomes airborne. If it did not “launch” itself, it would not be fragrance. As a result, the fragrance will naturally fade with time.

With that in mind, there are still some factors that you can control to prolong the life of your fragrance. Some of the influences on fragrance longevity are temperature, air movement, and humidity. If your Crystal Potpourri is in an open container on a window sill where it sits in direct sunlight and is in the path of blowing air from an environment-control system, fragrance in the crystals will be swept away relatively quickly.

How can I replenish the fragrance when it fades?

Fragrance by its nature fades because it is constantly throwing off its scent. But replenishing the fragrance of Crystal Potpourri to the strength you desire is easy! Simply place your Crystal Potpourri in a sealable plastic bag, for example a zip-lock bag. Add some Refresher Oil directly to your crystals and gently mix the fragance oil into the crystals so that the oil is evenly distributed. Allow the crystals to rest overnight before removing from the plastic bag. Half a vial of Refresher Oil will renew the fragrance of approximately one pound of Crystal Potpourri.

How should I display my Crystal Potpourri?

Crystal Potpourri provides a visually appealing approach to home fragrance. In glass bowls and dishes, these crystals can be used as a well-integrated element of your home or office decoration. In a well-lit spot, light is diffused through your translucent crystals highlighting the attractive color blends.

In an office setting, Crystal Potpourri is a high-quality alternative to candles where many people want fragrance without the unpleasant qualities of traditional floral potpourri or concerns about burning candles. Crystal Potpourri requires no flames and no electricity.
